As part of Wilkes University's First Year Foundations program, John Hepp's 2005 class studied the history of downtown. One of the class assignments was to photograph "historic relics" -- reminders of the past that still survive -- in downtown. This site consists of photographs drawn from each group's five favorites. We hope you enjoy these views of downtown Wilkes-Barre. All of these photographs were taken with inexpensive disposable cameras purchased by Wilkes for the students at the Ritz Camera Center located in the Boscov's department store in downtown Wilkes-Barre.
