Fountain: Fountain in Public Square

This picture shows the fountain in Public Square. The fountain is of historical importance because it symbolizes city beautification at its best. Although created fifty years after the City Beautiful movement, the glorious fountain of water represents that movement's ideals and their continuing influence on downtown Wilkes-Barre. The fountain makes the heart of downtown Wilkes-Barre (Public Square) more beautiful than ever in the hopes that people will come to work, shop and visit again.

Columbus: Columbus in Public Square

This statue stands as an everlasting tribute to the European that is credited with discovering America.
