Areas of Professional DevelopmentDr. Kropiewnicki specializes in the following areas of professional development: ~ reading and writing instruction including the processes of reading & writing, guided reading, writing across the curriculum, content area reading, research skill development, and literature-based instruction; ~ study skills integrated through research skill development; ~ differentiated instruction to enable all learners to succeed; ~ educational assessment including performance assessment design and adapting assessments to address various levels of learning; ~ curriculum including all aspects of curriculum design & development, such as: curriculum mapping, aligning curriculum to standards, and integrating across the curriculum; ~ cooperative learning strategies and multiple intelligences and their application within the classroom; ~ developmentally appropriate practices for young learners through adolescence, including middle level education. Additional areas of professional development in early childhood education, mathematics and science, special education, instructional technology, and English as a Second Language are available through Dr. Kropiewnicki or one of her associates.
