Process

1. First you will be assigned to a team of 3 students responsible for studying a specific planet in our solar system.

2. Each student will then be assigned a specific role.

3. Next you will work together as you travel from site to site through the information links.

4. You will visit each site searching for the correct information to complete your Data Log.

5. After completing the log your team will meet to discuss your findings.

6. As a group you will choose the facts that could make your planet an exciting vacation spot. Think about some of the fun and interesting things you've done on your own family travels. Next relate those experiences to the facts you've collected about your planet. Don't forget to view and discuss the sample travel brochures available in the classroom.

7. Working together design a travel brochure for your planet encouraging other people from Earth to choose your planet for their next vacation spot. Remember what we have discussed in class about an author's purpose for writing. Be persuasive, yet present factual information.

8. Make your brochure colorful using either markers, crayons, or colored pencils. Include items like: an imaginary resort, telephone numbers, maps, hours of operation, tourist attractions, credit card information, price guides...Let your imagination soar!

9. Each team member must take an active part in both the planning and actual designing of the brochure. Part of your grade will be determined by how well you worked together.

10. After your brochure is completed each group will give a 3 to 5 minute oral presentation telling the class what they learned about their planet. Each group member will take part in the presentation. You will then share your brochure with the class explaining why you decided to use the information that you chose.

11. Have fun and remember to work as a team!
