Reading and Assignment Schedule
English 334: Schedule
This schedule designates assignment due dates, the central works we will be reading, and the approximate time when you should have them completed. Additional reading will come from the class discussion assignments and from assigned criticism during the semester. Paper and assignment due dates will not change unless absolutely necessary, but as we explore the material we may deviate from the reading plan articulated here.

Reading and discussion: Dryden clean-up. Locke in NA 2146-2150. Newton, NCE pgs. xi-34. Bunyan, "Pilgrim's Progress" NA 2137-2145. Sprat, "History of the Royal Society" (Handout).
Keep reading: Aphra Behn, Oroonoko, or The Royal Slave and also read any one of the sections in the "Historical Backgrounds"(75-178) and any two of the critical essays (199-265).

April 7:
