What do I teach?
Every semester I offer
sections (usually online) of History 101, Historical
Foundations of the Modern World, which is Wilkes' required course on diversity, historical perspective and globalization.
I share with Dr. Wenger responsibility for teaching History 297, the introductory seminar to the history major. I also serve as a backup to Dr. Wenger in teaching the American History surveys (125 and 126).
In terms of upper division classes, I teach the following courses on
a three year rotation: American
Economic History, American Cultural and Social History (shared with Dr. Wenger), The
History of American Foreign Policy, Oral History, The US since 1945, Victorian America, and The World
since 1945.
I also teach courses and seminars on public history, urban history, the history
of technology, and military history on a less regular basis.
