Principles of Classical and Modern Physics

An introductory course designed to promote an understanding of the more important fundamental laws and methods of Electricity and  magnetism, optics and light. The course includes Laboratory work to emphasize basic principles and to acquaint the student with measuring instruments and their use, as well as the interpretation of experimental data..

Students are expected to read the relevant text book chapters and all handouts by the assigned class period.  Almost every day you will be assigned a homework assignment.  The homework assignments are an important learning tool for this class.  You are expected to do your homework assignments by their due dates and have them available in class.  Although you may work together as a group on your homework and projects, I expect everyone to be confident that they would be able to solve any given homework assignment.
