Call for Texts: Volume 3 Number 1

The Journal of Literacy and Technology http://www.literacyandtechnology.org
is currently seeking articles and reviews for its next issue (Winter 2003).
The goal of JLT is to provide a forum for critical investigation of the
complex relationship between literacy and technology with an intended
audience of teachers at all levels. Texts may address this goal from
scholarly, theoretical, historical, personal and/or institutional
perspectives. The deadline for consideration for the next issue is January
15, 2003. Texts received after that date will be considered for future
issues.

Articles

JLT considers original research, teaching/personal narratives, and feature
articles. Topics may include, but are not limited to the following:
Historical/Historicizing Studies

Workplace Literacy
School Programs
Funding Issues
Hypertext Theory
Literature Reviews
Theoretical/Philosophical Perspectives
Personal Narratives
Teaching in Electronic Environments
Distance Learning
Multicultural Literacies & Technology
Media Studies

All articles should focus overtly on the relationship between literacy and
technology. See http://www.literacyandtechnology.org/main/toc.html for
previously accepted articles.

Reviews

Reviews and review articles are being sought on texts examining in
particular the relationships technology and discourse create in the
educational process. Thus, reviews are to explore works on
computer-mediated interactions in relation to questions of identity,
access, gender, and discourse. Book reviews are normally 500+ words while
critical review articles need to incorporate a critique of at least three
books in a more detailed analysis.

To Submit:

In addition to complete Webs, JLT accepts text-only manuscripts and will
assist authors in developing existing content for Web publishing.
To submit an article for consideration, please send URL, manuscript, or
electronic copy (.html, .doc, .txt, or .rtf format) to:

Jonathan Taylor, Editor
The Journal of Literacy & Technology
Ferris State University
3027 Arts & Sciences Commons
820 Campus Drive
Big Rapids, MI 49307-2225
(231) 591-5853
Fax: (231)591-2910
editor@literacyandtechnology.org

For reviews submissions and questions, please contact:

Noemi Marin, Ph.D.
Reviews Editor
The Journal of Literacy and Technology
Department of Communication
Florida Atlantic University
777 Glades Road
Boca Raton, FL 33431
nmarin@fau.edu

Text Preparation Guidelines

JLT generally follows style guidelines from the Yale Web Style Guide
http://info.med.yale.edu/caim/manual.
