One way to build both internal and external strength is through a martial art. In my martial arts career, I have trained in the arts of Taekwondo and Hapkido. I hold a 1st degree BLACK BELT in Hapkido and a 2nd degree BLACK BELT in Taekwondo. I received this training at the Hapkido-Taekwondo Institute and at Bonick's School of Martial Arts.
Here is another interesting source for Taekwondo. See Taekwondo1. Another great source for Hapkido can be found at Hapkido. For general - and yet, thorough information about the martial arts, go to Martial Arts Planet.
To see the best in competitive Martial Arts, check out UFC, which is where real martial arts skills are tested.
Currently, I am continuing with training in kickboxing and learning other realistic self defense techniques at Bonick's School of Martial Arts. Here I am training with Master Joe Bonick, World Kickboxing Champion.
Recently, I've been spending a lot of my time and attention on a new approach to self defense called Target Focus Training. This seems to be the BEST system out there for realistic self defense.
