Becky's Education
All of Becky's schooling was obtained in Illinois schools. She began elementary school in 1928
in Orient, grades 1 to 4. In the 5th grade she had moved to Marion with her family and attended
the elementary school there. She attended Marion Township High School from 1936 to 1940.
Most of the Giles relatives had attended college at the University of Illinois. And that was
Becky's school also. She graduated in 3 1/2 years and was awarded a BS degree in Home
Economics on January 11, 1944.
