Experiencing Shakespeare in 16th century England meant going to the theatre or reading a play. While seeing an authentic production of one of Shakespeare's plays in the Globe Theatre was undoubtedly awesome, contemporary culture contains numerous exciting and entertaining ways to experience Shakespeare. Shakespeare's entertainment value is truly universal and the manifestations of his work in modern society go far beyond simply reading the play.
